The transformed city:
The normality of the city has changed because of the murders
Heroic romance:
The killer was an ordinary person who decided to do god's work and kill people who embodied the seven deadly sins. The detective's (mills & Somerset) also had to change do to the weirdness of the murders
The exotic:
Killing people in accordance to the seven deadly sins. Mill’s wife is also exotic as she doesn't fit in anywhere in the plot of the film

The killer is in plain view and could have always been there

At the beginning she embodies a thriller stereotype (a venerable woman) but it turns out that she's a woman on a mission
